Which tool do I need?

Send a quote when the client still needs to approve a price and work hasn't started. Send an invoice once the work is done, or at an agreed billing point, and payment is due.

If a quote gets accepted, you don't need to re-type anything: open it in the Quote Generator and click Convert to Invoice. Your client details, line items, currency and tax settings carry straight across — the invoice just picks up its own invoice number.

Why these are free

Both tools are supported by advertising, kept outside the tools themselves — ads never sit above or inside the form you're filling in. There's no paid tier and no feature held back to push you toward one.
