About InvoiceMint
InvoiceMint is built and maintained by Brian, an independent developer. The site is a small cluster of free invoicing tools and reference pages for freelancers and small businesses โ not a SaaS product and not an accounting platform.
What the tools actually do
Two documents share one business profile: an invoice generator and a quote / estimate generator. You can convert an accepted quote into an invoice without retyping the client or the line items. Totals, tax, discounts and PDF output are computed in the browser. There is no account and no database of customer invoices.
That last point is the product, not a slogan. Most free invoice generators ask you to create an account so they can store your client list. InvoiceMint takes the opposite trade: you keep the data, and you accept that invoices do not sync across devices. If you need multi-user accounting, this is the wrong tool.
How it is built
Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No framework, no build step, and no third-party JavaScript libraries in the tools themselves. PDF export uses the browser's print engine rather than a JavaScript PDF library, so the text stays selectable and the page does not ship a large dependency to every visitor.
State lives in localStorage on your device. The shared
business profile is stored once and read by both tools. Each tool keeps
its own document numbering.
How it is funded
The tools are free. The site is supported by advertising, kept out of the document itself. There is no paid tier and no feature is withheld to push you toward one. Invoice data is not part of that arrangement โ it is never collected, sold, or shared, because it never reaches a server. See the privacy policy.
How the guidance is maintained
The reference pages cover common commercial practice: what belongs on an invoice, how payment terms work, how people chase late invoices, and how different trades usually bill. They are general information, not tax, accounting or legal advice. Rates, thresholds and statutory rules change; where a page mentions a mechanism (for example statutory late-payment interest), it describes the mechanism rather than publishing a figure as if it were permanent.
Pages carry a last-reviewed date. If something is wrong for the jurisdiction you work in, email a correction with a source and it will be fixed. That is the maintenance process โ there is no editorial board behind this site.
What this site is not
- Not an accountant, bookkeeper or tax filer.
- Not a payment processor. You still send the PDF and collect payment yourself.
- Not a place to store years of invoices. Save the PDF somewhere durable when you send it.
- Not a directory of other people's tools. Every page here is written for this site.
